WEDNESDAY, October 26 at 7pm with Merrill Grant and Anna Weier!

West End Cultural Centre - 586 Ellice Ave

Anna Weier (she/her) is a queer white settler who has lived most of her life on Treaty 1 territory and homeland of the Red River Metis. Anna has worked or volunteered as a bike mechanic at Natural Cycle, UMCylce and many times at the WRENCH's Cycle of Giving and Empty the Fill. In 2010 Anna founded the Winnipeg Folk Festival Bike Ride to Site. Anna's favourite bike tools are the random tools that get made at the shop of old spokes and other old bike parts. Anna's current favourite bike is the 2nd hand trail-a-bike that allows her to go on biking adventures with her daughter.

Merrill Grant is a WRENCH staff, and a long time volunteer at community bike shops. Merrill has a background in early childhood education, but has spent much of her professional life working within community serving organizations, with a focus on poverty, women's rights, and 2SLGBTQ+ rights. She is a life-long Winnipeger, and is passionate about cycling as transportation, and communities that are livable, equitable and just. She is currently serving as the interim director at The WRENCH, and shares her north end home with her partner.
