In this by-donation eight-week program, youth and their caregiver/parent each rebuild a bike from scratch- to take home at the end of the program! Using our fully outfitted shop at 1057 Logan, and bikes and parts lovingly transported from Winnipeg's 4R sites by WRENCH volunteers, participants will gain hands on, practical skills to take forward beyond the course. Participants who successfully complete this program will also have the skills needed to volunteer in WRENCH programs and community services.
Youth should be between the ages of 9 and 16 to best participate.
All participants need to be fully vaccinated and wear a mask to participate. Accessing the shop involves descending a flight of stairs. Washrooms are on a different floor from the shop, again requiring staircase use.
Participants need to be able to stand for long periods of time, and lift 50 lbs with some ease.
The WRENCH prioritizes participation towards equity! Feel free to share any info that would help us towards this goal. We will also look to include participants who can commit to coming to the whole program.
Thank you to the Sifton Foundation for their generous support for this program!
