Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's

What are the business hours for The WRENCH?

The WRENCH has several locations.
Our main production shop is at 1057 Logan, lower level. This is open for tuneups and repairs at regular rates 10am-5pm mon, tues, wed, and fri. Thursday is "Open Shop", which is reserved for low income Winnipeggers and is pay-what-you-can by appointment.

The WRENCH at the Forks is open late May through mid September, Thu-Fri 2-8pm and Sat-Sun 12-6pm. Hours are weather-dependent.

How do I donate bikes or parts to The WRENCH?

We take all donations of bikes and parts at Winnipeg's 4R Depots. Make sure you check their hours prior to your drop off. We check each site about twice a month, and gather the bikes and parts that best serve our program at any given time. We'll ensure your donation serves its best possible use in our community services and programs.

We try not to take donations of parts and bikes at 1057 Logan, nor at the WRENCH Forks Kiosk. We plan our shop space use down to the centimeter and taking in supply we can't use right away slows down our work.

We are unable to offer pick-ups of donations at this time

How can I get my bike fixed?

The WRENCH has several options to keep your bike in tip-top shape!

We offer full-service repair and tune-up packages at very competitive prices.

If you are looking for affordable repairs, our Thursday open shop provides repairs and adjustments on a sliding scale, affordable rate!

We always recommend booking an appointment ahead of time, especially during the busy spring and summer season!

Starting Oct 16 you can drop it off at our shop during business hours, have it picked up from your home. .

Note that during its stay with us you will not have access to your bike.

I'd like to volunteer. How do I do that?

The best way to find out about all of our volunteer opportunities is to sign up for our monthly email.

Are repairs or bikes free during open shop?
Open shop is designed to make sure everyone gets what they need.
There is a cost to doing repairs and making these bikes available. For repairs/ parts/ we will let you know what the cost is and ask that you pay what you can. Book here.

For Basic bikes we charge $40 for bikes with 18" wheel size or larger and $20 for bikes 16" and under. Generally we also have $20 locks and $20 helmets. These are extremely popular and as supplies are limited we reserve the right to limit buying more than 1 bike per appointment slot to ensure many people are able to benefit. Book here.
